Buying clay from outside is expensive. It is easy & low-cost to make at home.
We can easily mold it to many number of ways. It hardens when exposed to air.
Lets make the Cold Porcelain Clay,,,
Step: 1
Items required
1. Nonstick pan
2. Wooden Spoon
3. Corn Starch
4. Glue
5. Lemons
6. Baby oil
7. Acrylic Colors
8. Measuring cup
Step: 2
One by one we will take all these ingredients in a nonstick pan
- 240 ml Corn starch
- 240 ml Glue
- 2 Tbsp Lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp Baby oil
Mix it well,until u get a nice mixture.
There should be no lumps.
Step: 3
Cook this mixture on a low heat for around 15 minutes. Keep stirring continuously.
After 15 minutes it starts pulling away from the sides of the pan. At this point switch off the flame and takeout the pan from stove.
Step: 4
Apply some lotion to both the hands and to the surface to avoid this mixture from sticking.
Takeout the mixture from the pan and knead it continuously until the mixture cools.
Step: 5
Apply some lotion to the polythene cover.
Once the mixture cools down make it like a ball shape and place this on the cover and fold it tightly from all the sides.
Put it in a Ziploc bag and keep this in dark and cool place for 24 hrs undisturbed.
Step: 6
Tick Tock, Tick Tock,,,
After 24 hrs the clay will become soft and smooth.
By following these two steps, you can know the condition of the clay.
- Press with your finger, then it should leave your finger impression. And it shouldn't stick to your finger.
- It should form a tear drop shape when pulled apart.
Step: 7
If you would like to make colored clay, take required amount of clay and add few drops of color of your taste and knead it thoroughly.
After every use, keep the remaining clay in an air tight cover to avoid the clay becoming dry.
Don't worry about your Nonstick pan, it is very easy to clean the mess.
