Silk Thread Rakhi

Rakhi symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her.
Today let's make rakhi for the brothers ðŸ‘¨.
This is very simple and easy process. Even kids can try under their parents supervision.

Let's start the process,,,,

Step: 1

Items needed,
1. Silk thread (any color)
2. Lace (around 30 cm)
3. Glue
4. Beads for decorating (any kind)
5. Scissors.
 Step: 2

Take the silk thread and roll it to any bottle. Roll the thread as many times as you want. I did not count the number of times I have rolled. You can roll the thread to anything, like to your fingers or to any cardboard piece. Make sure to roll evenly.
Once you are done with the rolling, slowly take out the the thread from the bottle.

📌 You can take any color thread.
📌 If you want small Rakhi, roll the thread to small bottle.

Step: 3

Hold at the center and make a twist.
Take a piece of thread and make very tight knots at the center. So that the threads will not come out.
By using scissors cut both the edges as shown in the picture.

Step: 4

Bring all the threads to one side and hold at the center. Trim all the edges, then the threads will become even ✂️. Cut the edges in a circular way. So that, the rakhi will come in round.
Don't cut too much.

Step: 5

After Trimming the edges, hold vertically at the center knot and spread top threads evenly in all sides. Place this part on the floor. Now evenly spread the threads of the other half. Press and hold at the center and smoothly comb the threads with your fingers.
If the threads are uneven, just trim that part and make it even.

Step: 6

Now the decorating time ⌚️
Apply some glue at the center and place any kundan or beads. Let it dry for couple of minutes .

Now apply some more glue all the way outside of that kundan. Now take small beads and place them around the kundan. You can use toothpick for placing the beads.
Let it dry for sometime . Do not disturb at all.
The main part of the rakhi is done. It will look like this.

📌 If you want you can decorate it even more.

Step: 7

Now take the lace and place it horizontally. The lace should be same color as the thread color (If you want, you can use any color lace). Apply generous amount of glue at the center and spread it little.

Looks like the decoration we did got dried properly.
Take the center piece and place it on the glue. Press gently at the center and then in all the sides.
Allow it to dry for some time .

Here it is,,, Our own hand made rakhi is ready.

I know, now you must be so excited to tie this beautiful rakhi to your Loving brother. After all You made this specially for him.

!!!!!!Advance Happy Raksha Bandhan!!!!!!
